Surprisingly no work after a long time

I was waiting till the end of the day call with the onsite team to get additional information for the service request and get inputs from them to make necessary changes in the deck I have share with the team. I was praying that the call should go as planned and the onsite team shouldn’t change their expectation nor their requirements, as they usually change between every day. The call started, as usual, I was detailing the slides I have created in the deck and was providing my validation for each of those pointers. Now, I gave a pause and was checking with the onsite team whether we are in the right direction or did we get new suggestions or requirements from the client. Surprising the onsite team was completely fine with my slides and was appreciating my effort to capture exact client requirements and bringing in the right slides. During the call, the onsite was conveying that we had required deck from the offshore team and now the deck has to be completed by an onsite team with relevant information. To know more about the service request details, please feel free to check out the blog posts in “G R Team sites”

Expectation for my promotion and salary hike

At the time of writing this post, I may be just 12 – 36 hours away from getting the most awaited yearly salary hike and promotion for the current year. As each hour pass by, my anxiousness about getting letter increases and I was so afraid about the company’s decision. Whether my work would be recognised, or would there be very marginal hike for this year, or my promotion would be delayed for one more year, etc. These questions keep me on the toe and hope it ends in the positive note. I think I have not detailed about my prior experience before joining this company, I have greater number of years’ experience than the manager level professional in my team and there are teammates with less than my experience and holding higher grade than me. Each time when I get notice about this inequality, it dampens my motivation and thrust for working better. To know what happened about my promotion and salary hike, continue reading at “G R Team Sites”

One more irritating opportunity with more escalations

So, after completing working with one of the most irritating persons in the delivery and the closing out the opportunity, I felt relieved and was hoping that I would get looped into a smaller opportunity or the relaxed opportunity for my next work. However, I was looped-in to work in one of the most irritating account in my team and with the most annoying delivery persons in the entire delivery landscape. I was completely taken aback and was hoping to close the opportunity in the most smoother way possible and again it turned out to be a disaster for me. Opportunity involved multiple escalations, too much of work and completely out of the mind delivery lead at on-site, I have come across multiple comments about this on-site lead from various sources and from my teammates, however this is the first time I was working with this delivery lead. I will detail more about the opportunity details and how I was completely roasted by those irritating account teams and irritating delivery leader from on-site in my upcoming posts in the “G R Team sites”.

My teammate left and got looped in irritating opportunity

My only teammate left from my team and decided to join new team, now all alone in my location with my nagging manager. While I was about to get over from the fact that my teammate has left my current team and joining new team for her career growth, I was looped to support for the most irritating opportunity in our entire team. The same old opportunity came back again which I was working with one of the most irritating delivery point of contact, but to my surprise he was not looped into the mails and I was shocked to know that, however I thought it was simple error made by the lead. Later on I found out that the guy or the most irritating delivery POC has left the company and joined new company, from one end and I was happy that I was I would no longer work have to work as hard as the delivery POC would force me to and on another end I was worried that how much work I would get now on this opportunity. Advice to take planned vacation

After long time, I was planning to take vacation for week to enjoy my daughter’s birthday and take off some workload from my mind. Usually, in information technology (IT) sector people make common mistake while taking vacation, such as taking off from Monday to Friday and returning back to work on the next week Monday. In such times, people tend to get lot of work on Monday while returning back to work after long vacation. However, there is a shortcut associated with it, which is take vacation from Tuesday to next Monday and take work from home or sick leave on Monday before planned vacation. This plan would actually confuse the manager in two ways, one is that you would not be assigned work Monday before your planned vacation and other thing is you would in your vacation, when work to be assigned on Monday. But it worked in reverse way around for me and backfired for me in bigtime as I had to work on Monday before my planned vacation, to know more about it, please continue reading at “G R Team Sites”.
