Anticipation for next steps during Covid-19 pandemic

While the coronavirus pandemic was getting started around different cities, it was slowly getting into my city and work locations. A few days earlier my manager and I were discussing its impact on other countries and how it will impact if it affects countries like us. We were unaware of its impact and when each day passed on, the Covid-19 virus fear was taking over and it was spreading faster than the forest fire. With news channels publishing status about new Coronavirus in the country, myself and my manager was witnessing a drop in traffic and noticed few people scheduling a meeting with onsite counterpart requesting work from home options. I was not worried much, because I had planned my long vacation for next week and anyway would be traveling to native shortly. However, with all colleagues talking about the severity of the coronavirus, I wanted to check with my manager about the possibility of working from home. Post conversation, I was disappointed because my manager was conveying that he would still wait and decide about the situation.
